Fall Harvest Parties and Policy Updates - October 16 & 17

Friends of Family Farmers is hosting two Fall Harvest Parties to celebrate family farmers and give a short preview of several policy issues that emerged during our 2018 Farmer and Rancher Listening Sessions. Earlier this year, we heard from over 200 farmers and ranchers in 19 communities around the state about the challenges they face and their ideas for solutions. Come to one of our Fall Harvest Parties for a fun evening and learn more about our work to expand access to land and capital for beginning farmers and ranchers, improve support for small scale meat processing, support farm direct producers, and enhance agritourism opportunities for small farms.

Bend - Tuesday, October 16 - Dump City Dumplings, 384 Upper Terrace Dr. Bend - RSVP Here

Salem - Wednesday, October 17 - Vagabond Brewing, 2195 Hyacinth St NE, Salem - RSVP Here

Both parties will take place from 5:30-7:30 pm, with a brief presentation at 6:00 pm. These events are free, and a drink ticket and light appetizers will be available for all. For the Bend party, a free dumpling will also be provided for the first 50 attendees! To learn more and to RSVP for Bend or Salem, click here

Dine Out for FoFF - Weds., October 10 - Ecliptic Brewing

Eat, drink, AND support a great cause! On Wednesday, October 10th, 10% of sales at ECLIPTIC BREWING in Portland will be donated to Friends of Family Farmers.

What better way to support FoFF than enjoying craft beer, wine, cider or another beverage of your choosing while eating seasonal food sourced from local family farms? Ecliptic is a Portland craft brewery that celebrates the earth’s yearly path around the sun –  their seasonal menu rotates every 6 weeks on the old world calendar: Samhain, Winter Solstice, Brighid, Spring Equinox, Beltaine, Summer Solstice, Lammas and the Autumnal Equinox. Whatever you order, a portion of the proceeds will go to Friends of Family Farmers on October 10.

Ecliptic Brewing is a member of our Business Circle. If you or your business would like to support Friends of Family Farmers, please contact Shari today for details.

Oregon Farm Link Updates

Oregon Farm Link is an online land link and resource hub managed by Friends of Family Farmers since 2009 (originally called iFarm Oregon). The program has grown tremendously and to support this continued growth, we have begun charging a small annual fee of $10 for new and renewing land seeker listings as of October 1st, 2018. Land listings and job postings will remain free of cost in order to maximize the number of available farming opportunities. Access to land is a primary barrier that beginning farmers face and as Oregon Farm Link grows, we strive to foster more connections between land holders and land seekers and promote the next generation of family farming in Oregon.
