Muckboots in the Capitol - Take Action to Support Family Farms at the Oregon Legislature!

The 2019 Oregon Legislature is in full swing. That means it's time for the return of our 'Muckboots in the Capitol' blog to keep you up to date on some of the most important food and farm legislation being debated in Salem right now. We are working on a wide range of issues we heard about from farmers and ranchers across the state during our 2018 Listening Session tour. Specifically, we are supporting bills to address beginning farmer access to land, provide new funding for Double Up Food Bucks programs, take on climate change and water issues, enhance on-farm agritourism opportunities, increase funding for organic programs, and more. It's a big year and we're going to need your help!

On March 27th, 2019 we will be holding our biennial 'Family Farms Mean Business' Rally and day of action at State Capitol in Salem to support legislation addressing these issues. This event is for both farmers and eaters, featuring morning policy workshop, a rally on the Capitol steps at midday, and meetings with your Legislators throughout the day. We will be providing a continental breakfast, lunch, and facilitating transportation for those who RSVP in advance. Join us for the day and together we can show decision-makers that Family Farms Mean Business! Sign up to attend at the link below.

InFARMation Returns February 27 to Central Oregon

What does it mean to be farming in the midst of climate change? Can agriculture be a part of the solution? What is your role in building a sustainable food system in Oregon? We will tackle questions like these and more at an upcoming InFARMation event in Portland and Bend in February.

InFARMation: Land, Soil, Water, and Farmers: The Future of Sustainable Agriculture in Oregon
