2019 'Family Farms Mean Business' Rally Day

Mark your calendars for March 27th, 2019 when we will be holding a rally and day of action at the State Capitol in Salem to celebrate Oregon's family farmers and ranchers. There will be workshops in the morning to fill you in on food and farm issues at the State Legislature, a rally on the Capitol steps, and opportunities for you to weigh in on the issues impacting our local food systems and family farmers. Join us for the day and together we'll show decision-makers that Family Farms Mean Business!

We hope you will join us on March 27th! Sign up at the link below to let us know you are interested.

Fill Your Pantry Portland - Sunday, December 9

Our 4th annual Fill Your Pantry is this Sunday, December 9th, from 11 am - 3pm under the covered pavilions at Faubion Elementary School, 2930 NE Dekum St, Portland, OR 97211. Local producers will be selling a variety of winter veggies, grains, dry beans, fruit, nuts, pastured meats, and more! Whether or not you pre-ordered, there will be lots of winter goodies available for purchase at the event. At last year's event, more than 400 shoppers participated, generating over $60,000 in sales for local producers—a significant impact for a single day event!

FoFF is again excited to partner with the Culinary Breeding Network and Eat Winter Squash to co-host a Squash and Bean Sagra alongside Fill Your Pantry on Sunday, Dec 9th. This festival celebrates the abundance and diversity of Oregon-grown winter squash and dry beans, and will include fun activities, delicious samples cooked by local chefs, and even a squash butchery demonstration. This is a free event, all ages welcome!

Make a Year End Donation to Friends of Family Farmers

Friends of Family Farmers is THE leading voice for Oregon family farmers and ranchers who responsibly steward their land and feed our communities. We know it takes more than skill and good land to be successful. That's why we've created a variety of programs like InFARMation, Farmer and Rancher Listening Sessions, Oregon Farm Link and the Oregon Pasture Network to both educate consumers and help farmers find solutions to the challenges they are facing. We also keep a keen eye on state agencies and corporate agribusiness interests to make sure Oregon continues to be a great place to live and farm.

As the year comes to an end, become a donor today! FoFF is a grassroots organization that depends on donations from supporters like you. Your year-end donation is not only tax deductible, it will help us expand our programs and our advocacy for those who grow our food. This in turn helps rural economies, sustains the environment, and nourishes our families with healthy, Oregon-grown food.

Apply Now for the Oregon Pasture Network!

We have added a number of benefits to our program, the Oregon Pasture Network, over the last couple years and we continue to grow the program. If you are a pasture-based producer, now is the time to apply! We sponsor classes to provide expert assistance for producers to deepen your understanding of the art and science of responsible grazing, and to improve your operations. We also launched a 'Potluck and Pasture Walk' series this summer, hosted by members of the OPN, to learn from one another and talk pasture. Members of the Oregon Pasture Network also get free placement in the first ever statewide Pasture-Raised Product Guide
